This was the first time I have used Just Sardinia and naturally was a bit apprehensive, but it all went so smoothly right from the moment of enquiry. It was perfectly tailored to what we wanted to do. My husband wanted a road trip and Huw's recommendation of driving down satisfied his need. I enjoyed the change from flying to travelling down and experiencing the overnight ferry, seeing Mont Blanc and stopping in Burgundy.

The hotel is one of the oldest buildings in the village, originally used as a granary and then used for the production of wine. Built in local granite at the end of 19 ^th century, it has been refurbished in traditional Sardinian style.

There are 12 individually designed guest rooms and Junior Suites, tastefully decorated and furnished using local materials, such as wood and granite, with handmade soft furnishings. The rooms are on the first and second floors serviced by a lift and all have en suite shower room, air conditioning, telephone, minibar, WiFi, satellite TV and hairdryer. Some of the rooms have sea views of the Gulf of Orosei.

The hotel is family run with 24 hour reception, concierge, room service, hotel and local information and internet access. Babysitting and beauty treatments can be arranged (extra cost). There is a lovely garden, illuminated in the evening, in which to relax and enjoy a cocktail. There is a lounge bar and breakfast room which serves a continental style buffet breakfast.

It is just a 50m walk to the local town beach equipped with sunbeds, parasols and beach towels for guests of the hotel (June to October). There is mountain biking, canoeing, boat rental, tennis, diving, trekking, climbing and horse riding available locally and trips to the Supramonte mountains with a guide can be arranged (all extra cost).

The hotel is located right in front of the beautiful eleventh century church in the small coastal town of Santa Maria Navarrese, where there is a selection of shops, café bars, restaurants and pizzerias all within 200m.

Daily boat trips are available from the marina to the renowned beautiful beaches along the east coast including Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu, Cala Sisine and Cala Luna and there are guided trips into the Supramonte mountains which provide a dramatic backdrop to the town. The larger town of Tortoli is about 8km away and the scenic ‘Il Trenino Verde’ narrow gauge train can be accessed from Arbatax which is a similar distance.
