The Accommodation

The resort has 271 guest rooms, some terraced bungalow style and some on the ground and first floors, arranged in 2 hotels, Erica and La Licciola, set in 28 hectares of park land.

Hotel Erica has 148 rooms and is located conveniently close to the main restaurant, bars, main pool and beaches.

All the rooms are on the ground floor and attractively decorated in typical Sardinian style and have a furnished balcony or terrace, en suite shower room, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, TV, safe, minibar, beach towels and adult bathrobes.

The Restaurants & Bars

An elaborate buffet breakfast is served on the verandas of the restaurants Nautilius and/or Les Bouches. A Brunch Mediterraneo (extra cost) is a light buffet, or alternatively lunch is available at Li Zini on the beach, Bar Nemo, Posidonia or Caracoli for snacks and swim-up-to Bar Conchiglia for pasta (all extra cost). 

A fantastic feature of the resort is the choice of 7 restaurants for dinner (subject to availability, reservation and supplement are required at some):

Nautilus: An elegant buffet and show cooking
Il Grecale: Dinner by candlelight with table service (on reservation)
Les Bouches: A buffet with show cooking
La Prua: Located on the first floor overlooking the main Erica pool serving a Tasting menu of either fish or meat on alternate days (on reservation, with supplement)
Li Ciusoni: An authentic Sardinian restaurant with local specialities and typical Galluran cuisine (on reservation, supplement)
Li Zini: On the beach, this restaurant offers a barbecue with seafood and the catch of the day (on reservation, supplement, open in high season and subject to weather conditions)
Pizzeria: Located in the Mini Club exclusively for children

Resort Valle dell'Erica has 7 bars including Bar Nemo adjacent to the Erica pools in the piazzetta which is open during the day for drinks, ice creams and snacks and in the evening with live music and entertainment; Va Pensiero adjacent to La Licciola reception and Les Bouches restaurant and has live music and performances on the terrace; Conchiglia is a swim-up bar in the Licciola pools serving drinks and cocktails throughout the day and pasta and seafood at lunchtime (extra cost); Caracoli beach bar has snacks available at lunchtime; Bar Nord Est is in Hotel Erica reception; Posidonia is located on the Licciola beach with snacks available.

Gluten free meals are available on request when booking.

On request, guests on Half Board can replace dinner with Brunch. 

Please note: The opening of the restaurants and bars is at the discretion of the Management. Guests can eat at the restaurant of their choice.

The Facilities

The resort is approached via a private road terminating at the hotel car park, as cars cannot be taken into the resort. From here golf buggies will transport guests and their luggage to their rooms via their reception offering information about the resort, the local area and excursions which can be booked on guests behalf (extra cost). These include trips to La Maddalena island, Porto Cervo and Corsica and boat trips to visit the nearby islands.

Erica has 2 seawater swimming pools: one with varying depths and water features suitable for children and the other ‘infinity’ style, with granite rocks and sea views. The Licciola area is arranged around a three tier seawater pool connected by waterfalls and natural rocks surrounded by a sun terrace with stunning sea views to the islands and Corsica beyond and there is a freshwater pool for Exclusive area guests (children over 6 years old permitted).

There are numerous coves and beaches around the resort reached by footpaths, some closest to the accommodation having sunbeds and parasols reserved for resort guests. The main public beach has an area reserved for guests with a beach bar, lifeguard and complimentary sunbeds and parasols.

At guests' disposal is a free equipped gym area (aside from the extra cost cardio fitness room) in the Wellness Centre.

A practice ‘pitch & putt’ golf course (3 holes, Par 3) with chipping and putting green is available (club hire and lessons available extra cost), with free lessons for children up to 13 years old.

Trekking itineraries for adults and children are offered to learn about the Mediterranean maquis inland and along the coast.

Free cooking lessons in Gallura cuisine with local ladies take place at Li Ciusoni restaurant (August excluded).

Excursions can be arranged including prestigious boat charter, sport fishing, windsurf, sailing and kite surf lessons at a watersports school in the surfers haven of Porto Pollo (15km), scuba diving at a qualified school in Santa Teresa. There are also boat trips to the National Park of the Archipelago of La Maddalena and Corsica (no children under 3 years) and inland excursions to discover Gallura and its  natural landscape, museums and archaeological sites. There is a private helipad with possibility of helicopter transfers and panoramic flights over La Maddalena Archipelago.

There is a shuttle bus service to Santa Teresa Gallura (at scheduled times, not available on Saturdays, extra cost).

Guests can get free medical assistance in the medical office at scheduled times, (medical certificates and visits extra cost).

Please note: All facilities are operational at the discretion of the management, particuarly in low season.

Great for Families

The resort offers a complimentary English speaking Mini Club (9am – 11pm, 7 days a week) for children between 4 and 9 years old with playground, indoor and outdoor facilities, creative crafts, mini football/hockey, volleyball, water polo, golf, swimming courses and entertainment. The Pizzeria restaurant is exclusively for children where they can have lunch (supplement for children on half board) or dinner with the childminders, children aged 2 years and under must be supervised by an adult in the restaurant.

There is also a Baby Club for ages 2-3 years (pre-book, extra cost) and a complimentary nursery with bottle service, baby equipment (highchairs, sterilisers, bottle warmer, baby monitor, changing tables, nappies and food stuffs) and pushchairs can be requested free of charge at time of booking. A medical certificate is required, issued by your doctor not more than 3 days prior to arrival, proving that the child has no contagious illness.  

A Junior Club is available for children aged 10-13 years with snorkelling, canoeing, 5-a-side football, complimentary golf lessons, volleyball and adventure days (canoe excursions, Robinson Crusoe trip with photographic safari and lunch on the beach), Wii, Playstation and X-Box provided free of charge.

There is a private babysitting service available on reservation (extra cost: €18 per child per hour 9am-8pm; €22 per child per hour from 8pm onwards).

Spa Hotel

Le Thermae Thalasso & Spa has been created in a natural setting of granite rocks with 4 superb outdoor hydrotherapy pools of varying temperatures and enjoying sea views. There are a variety of Thalasso therapy treatments available, a relax area, sauna, Turkish bath, cardio fitness room and private cabins for massage and beauty treatments.

Entrance to the wellness centre is extra cost (€30pp for about 2 hours for guests over 14 years) and includes use of Thalasso pools, Turkish bath, sauna, cardio fitness room and relax room (complimentary for guests staying in Giglio and Orchidea rooms).

Please note: A health self-certification is required to have treatments and to use the spa facilities. Specific programmes for pregnant ladies (some treatments might be excluded). Access only for 14yrs+ if accompanied by parents or with a written parental consent. Opening is at discretion of the Management.

The Local Area

Valle dell’Erica is strategically situated on a headland, opposite Spargi island in the archipelago of La Maddalena, from where an estuary leads into Porto Pozzo which is the nearest village, approximately 4km away. The larger town and port of Santa Teresa di Gallura, situated on the most northerly tip of the island, is approximately 12km along the coast to the west with a good selection of shops, café bars, weekly market, restaurants and ferries to Corsica.

Valle dell’Erica is a relaxed resort style hotel and the natural beauty of its location makes it very special. It is perfect for both families and couples with the freedom to explore this beautiful expanse of open headland, with many secluded coves and beaches and clear blue sea, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

There is a well-planned dedicated children’s area with children’s clubs and entertainment – day and evening! Meanwhile, adults can choose from relaxing by the pool, on the beach or in the al fresco spa pools (extra cost).

I can highly recommend this hotel for its unique location and outstanding sea views from most of the rooms, bars and restaurants.
