The Accommodation

There are two distinct areas of this adult only hotel:

The Pelican Villa is the original hotel situated adjacent to the beach with 26 spacious rooms all arranged on the ground and first floor, some with sea views. They are tastefully furnished with modern, Mediterranean decor and colours of the island and have air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, tea and coffee facilities, safe, en suite shower room with hairdryer and some with a shared terrace. The prettiest rooms are the Deluxe Room Sea Views which are only few steps from the sea with wonderful sea views and bathrobes and slippers are provided.
Superior Room (18-23m²) double/twin bedroom with en suite shower room and access to a terrace (some are shared) and views over a courtyard.
Deluxe Sea View Room (18-23m²) double/twin bedroom with en suite shower room and a balcony/terrace with sea view.
Junior Suite (26-33m²) double bedroom with en suite shower room and sea view balcony.

The Main Building is the contemporary wing of the hotel situated opposite the Pelican Villa. These modern rooms, arranged on the first and second floors, have en suite shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, safe, hairdryer and most have balcony some with sea views.

The Restaurant

The Summer Beach Restaurant has an inside dining area and a spacious terrace (open at the managements discretion) to enjoy the lovely sea views and sunsets. There is a choice of international and typical Sardinian cuisine accompanied by a selection of wines both Italian and local Sardinian, which combined with excellent personal service offers a delightful ambience. There is also an à la carte lunch menu snack bar and room service is available (extra cost).  

The Facilities

The Pelican Villa has a lawn in front of the bar & restaurant terrace with steps leading directly onto the lovely cove with sandy beach with lifeguard and sun loungers and parasols (2 deckchairs & 1 parasol included 18/05-21/06 and 14/09-18/10, €30 per room per day 22/05-19/07 and 24/08-13/09 and €40 per room per day 20/07-23/08). The sea is electric blue, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.

In the Pelican Villa gardens is a sunken jacuzzi and a selection of sunloungers on the lawn reserved for guests of the Deluxe Sea View Rooms, Junior Suites and Exclusive Suites.

Opposite the Pelican Villa is the contemporary main building of the hotel which has a pool, spa and fitness area. The reception provides hotel and local information and can arrange excursions to the Costa Smeralda and boat trips to the Maddalena islands. There is free WiFi in all public areas.

Locally there are watersports and tennis available (800m away) and the Pevero 18 hole golf course is 30km away.  

Garage parking is €15 per day (upon request and subject to availability).

Spa Hotel

The Essential Pelican Spa has a steam bath, Finnish sauna, emotional showers, indoor relaxation area, one massage single room and a massage room for couples, beauty aesthetic cabin, external relaxation area, outdoor whirlpool. Packages available on request. Access to the spa is extra cost: €30 per person per entry for a 50 minutes.

The Local Area

From the hotel there are magnificent views over the Gulf of Olbia to the dramatic Isola Tavolara beyond. 10km away is the little town of Golfo Aranci with a few shops, gelaterias and pizzerias.  

To the north of the hotel is the stylish Porto Rotondo yacht marina, with a selection of designer boutiques, stylish cafe bars and restaurants set around the pontoons. From here the beautiful Costa Smeralda coastline leads up to Porto Cervo, dotted with coves and beaches with clear turquoise sea.

The Pelican Beach Resort and Spa is set in an enviable position with the Pelican Villa rooms, bar and restaurant leading out onto lawns leading down to a lovely beach with electric blue sea, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.  

We recommend this hotel for couples looking for a small and friendly hotel with direct access to the beach.  The location is ideal for exploring this beautiful area of Sardinia with Porto Rotondo and the Costa Smeralda nearby.  

There are beach bars and pizzerias in Pittulongu just 2km away, but we would trying the hotel's restaurant also as they have an excellent a la carte menu with local specialities and Sardinian wines.
