Traditional Sardinian cuisine has the taste of the island itself, with fish from the sea, herbs from the mountains and fruit and vegetables ripened in the warm Mediterranean sunshine. Seafood and wild game give strength and distinction to meals with different breads and local wines being the essential basics.

With so many wonderful gastronomic delights available on this beautiful island, we hope that these arrangements will enable our guests to really savour the flavour of Sardinia!
DINING OUT
In Sardinia there are a wide range of dining options for you to enjoy during your stay on the island. For eating out, there is a huge choice from cheap and cheerful pizzerias to sophisticated restaurants for fine dining, with excellent local cuisine often featuring fresh fish and seafood as a speciality.
There are many Agriturismo (farm) restaurants that usually serve a set menu of local Sardinian dishes including pane carasatu (paper thin bread baked with olive oil and rosemary) Sardo ham, sausage and Pecorino cheese, home made pasta such as ricotta and spinach ravioli, farm reared suckling pig (porcheddu) roasted with garlic and rosemary potatoes and followed by traditional seadas (pancake) with orange flavoured honey accompanied, of course, by a jug of local wine. Make sure you try a glass of Mirto or Limoncello – the local digestivo!

DINING OUT WITH CHILDREN
Sardinia is very family orientated and children are welcome in most restaurants. Although they rarely have a children’s menu, they will adapt portions and there is usually something that suits everyone. Please bear in mind that like the rest of Italy most restaurants make a cover charge and generally open at 7pm.
Hotel Su Lithu offers a 2 hour Cookery course for 60 euros pp and a Food & Wine Experience to pick vegetables, visit the family vineyard and taste the wine, watch the cooking and enjoy a special dinner for 53 euros pp (both subject to availability during stay, book and pay locally).
