WATERSPORTS
Sardinia’s fantastic coastline provides endless opportunities for watersports from basic pedaloes and canoes to international yachting on the Costa Smeralda. If you are a novice looking to learn, watersports facilities are available on the beaches of most of our hotels, and for experts there are specialised watersports centres with equipment to hire for you to experience your sport on the clear waters surrounding the island.
Cannigione Watersports Centre is in an ideal position for both beginners and experts. There are English speaking instructors, tuition and hire available for windsurfing, sailing, wakeboarding, waterskiing and boat driving course.

WINDSURFING
For the dedicated windsurfer, kite surfer and sailor, Porto Pollo (Puddu) between Santa Teresa and Palau on the north east coast has a double bay with waves and flat water sailing and three very good hire and tuition centres.

SCUBA DIVING
Sardinia’s clear waters, rocky coastline and islands offer great scuba diving for all levels and diving in the warm waters of the Mediterranean is definitely the way to have a go! Alghero is a good base for year round diving in deep sea with many caverns to explore. In the north east and the south, where marine life abounds, there are many dive schools (some operating from some of our hotels) offering taster sessions for beginners, courses for those wishing to gain their PADI dive qualification and dive trips for qualified divers.

SURFING
Surprisingly, Sardinia is also known for its surfing. Locals will not necessarily tell you of their 'secret spots', however the breaks can be found on most of the coastline at some point in the year: Porto Ferro north of Alghero, Isola Rossa and Vignola on the north west coast, Pula in the south west, Villasimius in the south east and Oristano on the west coast. Of course like anywhere, the surf is very weather dependent and is unlikely in July and August. The low season is the best time to bring your wetsuit and find those waves! If you don't wish to risk your precious weapon of choice to the mercy of the airlines, there is a surf shop in Sassari where they hire out reasonable boards.

FISHING
There are numerous opportunities for fishing in Sardinia: Inland on the lakes and rivers; On the coast off the rocks; In the south east excellent fishing at Capo Carbonara where there is an abundance of marine life; In Alghero you can take a boat and row out to fish under the cliffs; The waters around the north east are especially rich with fish and offshore sport fishing trips can be arranged. |

GOLF
Some spectacular courses are to be found in Sardinia to experience the contrast of the lush green fairways against the bright blue sky whilst enjoying superb sea views:
Il Pevero Golf Course on the Costa Smeralda can be described as one of the world’s most beautiful golf courses with sweeping sea and coastal views.
Is Molas Golf Course near Santa Margherita di Pula has unique views of the Roman ruins of Nora and turquoise bay, coupled with impeccably kept lawns offering an unforgettable golfing experience.
Atahotel Tanka Village Resort Golf Club at Villasimius has its own 18 hole golf course and driving range with spectacular views.

TENNIS
Tennis courts and facilities are available at many of our accommodations. At the Cervo Hotel there is a Tennis Club with 5 floodlit courts. Forte Village Tennis Academy with coaching from 5 internationally ranked tennis stars (20/06 – 13/09) with 1 grass, 1 synthetic and 7 clay tennis courts. Tanka Village has a tennis camp with 6 floodlit courts with tennis tournaments and group lessons for adults and children. |

FOOTBALL
Adults and children can join in a game of football at some of our resort hotels such as Cala di Lepre, Resort Le Dune and Tanka Village. At Forte Village there is a full size pitch, five-a-side pitches and soccer school with Chelsea Football Club coaches (June – August). |

HORSE RIDING
There are some beautiful bridleways along the coast, with the opportunity of riding on the beach, and in the Sardinian countryside to enjoy the spectacular scenery. Some of our hotels in the north have their own riding schools and in the south horse riding can be arranged from some hotels too.

WALKING AND TREKKING
Both the coastline and the mountainous interior of Sardinia offer great possibilities for hiking, trekking and walking such as
• Walking in the hills behind Alghero for lunch with the shepherds
• Coastal paths from Santa Teresa to Capo Testa lighthouse to experience the amazing rock formations carved by the wind and views to Corsica
