Accommodation Location
The Hotel Accommodation
Built in keeping with the rural landscape with the use of local granite, there are just 18 spacious standard and superior rooms and 2 junior suites arranged in the gardens of the hotel, all with furnished patio and most with wonderful views of the lake. All the rooms have a traditional Sardinian theme with hand painted furniture and locally made soft furnishings and have en suite shower room, hairdryer, satellite TV, minibar, telephone and air conditioning.The Facilities
There is a central hotel building with reception, bar with lounge area and terrace leading to the restaurant. There are 2 dining rooms enjoying panoramic views over the lake and countryside, offering a combination of Sardinian specialities and international cuisine accompanied by local wines. In the gardens there is a swimming pool with terrace surround, furnished with sun loungers and parasols.
From the hotel there are lovely walks and trails around the lake to discover the native flora, fauna and bird watch and it is possible to fish on the purchase of a license locally. There is a small railway station just up the road from the hotel where the scenic 'Il Trenino Verde' passes on its way between Palau and Tempio during the summer months. Near the railway, hiking enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to the archaeological site of ‘Nuraghes’ at 340m above sea level. There is also the possibility of visiting the Nuraghic archaeological site near to Arzachena, about 12km away.
Sant'Antonio di Gallura
The small village of Sant’Antonio di Gallura is just 2km from the hotel with a couple of shops, restaurants and café bars. Arzachena is 17km away which is the nearest large town for banks, shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda are approximately 25km away and boat trips to the Maddalena islands can be arranged through the hotel reception.

This small hotel offers the perfect rural hideaway and total peace and quiet for those wishing to get away from it all. The lake was a complete surprise to us which provides a refreshing outlook from the hotel which is totally off the beaten track but a wonderful haven of tranquillity.
Family run with personal touches and knowledge of the area, this is an ideal base for relaxation in typical rural Sardinia but also not far away to discover more of the countryside, archaeology or to visit the beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda. Car hire is essential.
